Manufacturing, Test and Product Engineering


As Senior Engineer, you should be able to devise the test strategy, review test plans and ensure usage of tools for optimization where required. You should be able to ensure the availability of the test environment, design tests and defect reporting formats and manage the team if required. You should update project related data as required in applicable systems and ensure timely reporting and response to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in product design, requirements reviews and other team meetings
  • Provide feedback on system design (functional and technical)
  • Working closely with Scrum team members, electronic engineers to clarify requirements, ensure they are testable and can be automated
  • Identifying any dependencies associated with the test event (hardware, software, resourcing, skills etc.)
  • Defining and writing test plans and cases based on requirement documents
  • Scheduling and executing test cases, logging results and defects, following issues through to resolution and escalating issues where appropriate
  • Participate in improving test engineering best practices, tools and processes

Required skills

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in similar industry
  • 5-7 years of hands on software and/or hardware testing
  • Linux and windows environment experience
  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experienced in test process definition and implementation
  • Experience working with JIRA or similar test defect/case tracking tool
  • Comfortable in working in a fast-paced development environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • VBscript, Python and/or Bash scripting experience
  • Experience in designing, developing, executing and reporting on performance tests
  • Experience with internet protocols including UDP and TCP/IP
  • ISTQB qualification
  • Familiarity with embedded systems
