Exactest has an exciting opportunity for a QA Automation Engineer to join our team. We are seeking a talented individual with a career interest in QA Automation to work on some of high-profile and large-scale development projects in Ireland.

You will be required to have 3+ years of recent automation testing experience and be comfortable in your ability to use C# (or equivalent language). The candidate must have considerable experience in QA Automation and experience using Microsoft Test Manager.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of creating and maintaining test environments and automation frameworks
  • Design and implement automation test plans using Microsoft Test Manager. Use of other test automation tools will be required over time as the solution expands and grows
  • Propose enhancements and solutions to increase test automation efficiency and coverage
  • Knowledge of a variety of continuous integration environments (Jenkins, TeamCity)
  • Collaborate with the build and release team to ensure the continuous integration environment is performing efficiently
  • Good working knowledge of source code management systems. TFS, Git would be advantageous
  • Experience with test data generation tools and writing test fixtures
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Work closely with business owners, developers and project managers
  • Provide training and guidance for junior team members on automation

Core Skills

  • At least 4+ years experience in QA with the majority in test automation
  • In-depth QA experience using Microsoft Test Manager in particular, automation
  • In-depth experience with common automation tools including as many of the following as possible, Specflow, Selenium, Fitnesse, SoapUI, CodedUI
  • Knowledge of OO languages, e.g., C#, VB.Net, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Test Methodologies such as BDD
  • Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL Server
  • Good knowledge of Architectural Designs and Concepts
  • Strong Communications Skills, with the ability to document test analysis, bug reports and test scripts
  • Working knowledge of a continuous integration environment
  • Ability to analyse and report on test results in a way that is understandable to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • An interest and a passion for software testing
  • Ability to identify complications within automation and propose innovative solutions. This includes understanding when to engage other team members to ensure a swift resolution to identified issues
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical skills
  • ISTQB certification a bonus
  • Previous experience of onsite client project delivery
